Technique for viewing ventricular dilatation with echocardiographic left ventricular contrast!
Contrast echocardiography showing a perfluorocarbon-based left ventricular opacity was recorded in a patient with dilated cardiomyopathy and abnormal thickening of the apical and lateral walls. After contrast injection, note areas of filled contrast in the thickened left ventricular wall, which is characteristic of ventricular dilatation.
