The central part, called the pulp nucleus, is firmer and very resilient, moving within the fibrous ring, usually located near the posterior margin of the intervertebral disc.

Body joints come in many types. Only refer to joints between vertebral bodies because this is a joint that often occurs with disease.

Joint between the bony vertebrae is a type of semi-dynamic cartilage.

Area match

The upper and lower faces of two adjacent vertebral bodies.

Spinal disc space

Convex double-sided lens shape. Is composed of cartilage fibres, including two parts:

The circumference is called the cartilage ring, created by concentric, elastic cartilage fibres.

The central part, called the pulp nucleus, is firmer and very resilient, moving within the fibrous ring, usually located near the posterior margin of the intervertebral disc. As a result, it is possible that the disc is herniated, protruding backwards and encroaching into the spinal canal, compressing the spinal cord or spinal nerve roots.

Ligaments

Includes anterior longitudinal ligament, posterior longitudinal ligament, yellow ligament.
