Path: from the bladder neck, the urethra goes straight down through the prostate gland, through the pelvic diaphragm and urogenital diaphragm, then bends forward and upwards, embracing the lower margin of the pubic joint and then entering the penis to the foreskin.

The urethra is the tube that carries urine out of the bladder. The male and female urethra is different. The male urethra carries both urines and is the way of ejaculation.

Male urethra

Outline

Path: from the bladder neck, the urethra goes straight down through the prostate gland, through the pelvic diaphragm and urogenital diaphragm, then bends forward and upwards, embracing the lower margin of the pubic joint and then entering the penis to the foreskin.

Segmentation: In terms of anatomy, the male urethra is divided into 3 segments, the prostate segment, the membrane segment and the porous segment.

Size: 16cm long in which the prostate is 2.5 - 3cm long. the membrane is 1.2cm long and the foam is 12cm long.

Body shape

Prostate: in the middle, there is a ledge called the urethral crest consecutively with the bladder tongue above and down to the lower membrane urethra. In the middle and lower 1/3 of the prostate gland, the urethral crest expands to an oval convex called a semen convex. Between the semen convex with the hole of the prostate oval pocket. On the two sides of the pocket are two holes of the tube. 2 sides are convex with 2 grooves, at the base of the trench there are many small holes of the prostate gland pouring in.

Membrane: many longitudinal folds.

Porous segment: in addition to the longitudinal folds, there are 2 emptying holes of the 2 urethral glands, the hole of the urethral cavity and the pit valve is a transverse fold on the upper surface of the urethra about 1-2 cm from the outer urethral opening.

Relate to

Prostate segment: located in the prostate gland.

The diaphragm from the top of the prostate gland to the penile cavity through the pelvic diaphragm and the urinary diaphragm is surrounded by the sphincter of the urethra. Out of the urethral diaphragm, the posterior wall of the urethra enters the porous object while the anterior wall has a part outside the porous object.

Styrofoam segment: related to the porous object.

Female urethra

The female urethra is 4 cm long, very elastic, and can stretch up to 1 cm. Go from the inner urethral hole down, slightly forward to the external urethral opening, located between the baby's lips, before the vaginal opening, below and after the clitoris. The margins of the outer urethral opening are slightly flipped outwards. The urethra attaches to the anterior wall of the vagina and attaches to the pubic bone through fibres of the pubic ligament of the bladder.
