Pathology of chronic laryngitis

Overgrowth of laryngitis, which is called elephant skin thickening, has an overgrowth of the epithelium and sub-mucosal lining, hair-forming cylindrical cells that transform into slices.

Chronic laryngitis has no functional symptoms other than prolonged hoarseness that does not tend to go away on its own and depends on a non-specific normal inflammatory process, that is, regardless of patients with laryngeal tuberculosis, syphilis, laryngeal fungus.

Reason

Due to pronunciation: singers and teachers are prone to inflammation due to overwork of the larynx; their pronunciation does not match their pitch.

Due to inhalation: chemical vapour inhalation, rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, alcohol consumption, smoking.

Due to the location: people with gout, diabetes ... there are many types of chronic laryngitis, but the same symptom is hoarseness.

Chronic secretory laryngitis

Usually, the result of recurrent acute laryngitis and after each episode of acute inflammation increases hoarseness.

Mechanical symptoms

The voice does not resonate, the patient must try to speak loudly and get tired soon after the voice is shy and hoarse, the patient always has to clear his throat in the morning due to the excessive mucus in the larynx, spicy, dry in the larynx.

Physical symptoms

Mucus usually stays at a fixed point at 1/3 before and 2/3 after a patient cough, the mucus will fall off and voice is restored.

The vocal cords are also severely congested, the two vocal cords are over productive and round like ropes, the mucosa loses its shine.

Tensed or closed muscles are semi-paralyzed.

Evolution

The disease lasts a long time, sometimes increasing and decreasing but not dangerous.

Treatment

Solve inflammation in the nose, sinuses, avoid chemical vapor.

Spot: spray alkaline solution, apply silver nitrate to the vocal cords.

Laryngitis overgrowth

Mechanical symptoms

Like the usual chronic secretory laryngitis: hoarseness, clear throat, sore throat when talking a lot.

Mechanical symptoms

Like the usual chronic secretory laryngitis: hoarseness, clear throat, sore throat when talking a lot.

Physical symptoms

When laryngoscopy found lesions.

Diffuse thick laryngitis: this type is often seen with overgrowth of the full circular deformation like a red rope.

Laryngitis thickened in intervals: on the vocal cords there are red nodules, the vocal cords become a zigzag line.

Occupational laryngitis

Those who live on a job have to talk a lot: singers, teaching ... often suffer from occupational laryngitis due to overwork or screaming all day, in the first stage the patient can't speak loudly, the patient struggles it will get lost in the frame, not bigger. Laryngeal congestion, later the disease progressed in one of two following:

Excessive chronic laryngitis 2.

Granular laryngitis: Small fibroids that grow on the free edge of the vocal cords (vocal cord fibrosis).

Atrophic laryngitis

Atrophic laryngitis usually occurs after a number of diseases of the nose and sinuses, but the main cause is nasal haemorrhoids (ozen).

Symptom

Patient experiences a burning sensation in the throat, increased morning hoarseness, occasional coughing up a yellow, green, foul-smelling cough, red, dry, wrinkled, dry, scaly mucous of the larynx. stagnant at the edge of the funnel, the vocal cords are often poor mobility.

The disease progresses in waves in women will decrease slightly during pregnancy.

Treatment

Spray 10% sodium carbohydrate solution. Cure ozen nose if any.
